Nestled in Minneapolis’ City Center, just a few blocks away from the Target Center and Target Field, Greek Grill & Café is famous for serving Greek cuisine with the freshest ingredients since 1987. Known for their traditional gyro sandwich and made from scratch Greek dressing, Greek Grill & Café takes guests on a food experience unlike any other Greek restaurant in the Minneapolis/St. Paul area headed by Chef Ahmed Koubaytari.
Our menu offers a variety of cuisines expanding outside of Greek to those who appreciate all walks of food. We offer an All-American cheeseburger to traditional Indian food, or a tilapia special for you seafood lovers. No matter what your taste buds are screaming you will always find something on the menu that will leave you and your friends satisfied and craving more.
Owned, operated, and managed by the Koubaytari family, Greek Grill & Café pays tribute to the Greek culture from the painted mural on the wall to the color coordinated floors and walls, and to the smooth and relaxing music. From the time you enter the restaurant to the time you leave, it will have felt like you took an unexpected trip to Greece and will leave energetic, relaxed, and happy.
CHEF AHMED KOUBAYTARI
BACKGROUND
Chef Ahmed Koubaytari grew up in a Middle Eastern family, where he learned at a very young age that the quality of food was essential to living a happy and full life. As a young teenager, he observed his relatives prepare culinary works of art from scratch especially Greek food. His parents also played a vital role in his life by pushing him to perfect everything he did including his award winning food.
In 1987, Ahmed decided to follow his dream of opening a Greek restaurant. This journey has brought Ahmed all over the Minneapolis/St. Paul food scene, where he tested and re-tested his recipes to ensure the highest quality of food that sent customer’s home or back to work extremely satisfied and wanting more. Ahmed’s most recent venture has landed him in the Minneapolis City Center running the mouthwatering and delicious Greek Grill & Café and launching a catering service.
Ahmed also believes in providing the best guest service. Each one of is employees is taught from day one that the guest comes first. Ahmed exemplifies this behavior day-in and day-out by helping run the cash register, helping the line cooks cook, or cleaning the restaurant during lunch rush, so the guest can sit down and enjoy food that is made with passion.
